PAS AWARDS 2011 EVENT PRESS RELEASE

The Pakistan Advertisers Society (PAS) organized a grand event to announce the winners of PAS Awards 2011.
“The prime objective of PAS Awards 2011 is to ‘raise the standard’ of advertising in Pakistan by acknowledging and honouring idea, strategy and creativity that lead to strong business results, encouraging competition within the industry, thus providing the impetus to thrive” said Aly Mustansir, Chairman, PAS. He further added that PAS Awards 2011 is the first of its kind and hopes that in the coming years more and more partners will join PAS to strengthen the platform that will eventually benefit our industry.
On the Awards show, Fuad Chundrigarh, Chairman, PAS Awards Committee said “there is so much talent out here and it’s great to see that we are celebrating our achievements. The question is whether we can raise the bar? In my humble view, I believe there is a lot to room for us to grow. The investment has to come both from the Client as well as the Agency side and these awards, I hope, will inspire all of us to compete positively and create powerful, insightful campaigns.
Held at Karachi Expo Centre, the award ceremony was attended by ‘who’s who’ of the advertising, marketing and media industry. Dr. Abdul Jabbar, Chairman, PEMRA, Reema Khan, Samina Peerzada, Sania Saeed, Vaneeza Ahmed, Chef Zaki, Asif Bean, Sultana Siddiqi, Amer Pasha, Tapu Javeri, Masood Hashmi, President MAP, Shahnoor Ahmed, Chairman, AAP, Sarmad Ali, General Secretary, APNS, Sohail Ansar were some of the prominent figures that presented the awards to the winners.
Abrar Hasan, Secretary of PAS said that the PAS Awards will be established as the most coveted and sought after awards of the advertising and marketing industry and every year we will see new categories added to the list.
Fuad Chundrigar and Qamar Abbas also briefed the audience on the judging and scoring process. They especially acknowledged Anwar Rammal, who chaired the jury and other jury members that included experts from the field of marketing, advertising, media, communication design and academia. The jury members were Amer Pasha, Shahrukh Hassan, Mariam Ali Baig, Rizwan Jamil, Ejaz Wasay, Semyne Khan, Nagina Farauque, Shakeel Butt, Arshad Mahmood, Ali. A. Khan, Tanaaz Minwala, Imtisaal Abbasi, Dr. Yasmin Zaim, Tapu Javeri, Waheed Bhatti, Zafar Siddiqi, Server Mosavee, Pervaiz Said, Sohail Ansar, Tauqeer Muhajir and Irfan Mustafa.
They said that a total of 105 entries were received across 18 different categories from which 41 nominations in 14 categories made to the final round.
In the end, Qamar Abbas, Executive Director PAS specially thanked PMC, the event managers to put a great show together, rteam, to effectively manage the Award Secretariat and other partners without whom the PAS Awards 2011 would not have been possible.
PAS Awards Finalist Announced!

After a two month process of receiving entries, the PAS Award Secretariat at rteam closed submissions with 105 entries in 18 categories - for which the jury started on April 29, 2011. The jury reviewed all the entries for the most effective works over a period of two days of Preliminary round. The preliminary round was carried out in two separate groups of jury, each group comprised of 7 Jury members. These ware industry experts from the field of marketing, media, research and creative’s. The jury was chaired by Mr. Anwar Rammal. The panel of jury included; Amer Pasha, Shakrukh Hassan, Mariam Ali Baig, Rizwan Jamil, Ejaz Wasay, Semyne Khan, Nagina Faruque, Shakeel Butt, Arshad Mahmood, Ali. A. Khan, Tanaaz Minwala, Imtisal Abbasi, Dr. Yasmin Zaim and last but not the least Tapu Javeri.
Following the preliminary round, the entries went through the Final Round on 13th – 14th May, 2011- from where one entry per category will qualify as a winner. Our Jury members on the final panel were: Zafar Siddiqui, Server Moosavee, Tauqeer Muhajir, Pervez Said, Sohail Ansar; while Waheed Bhatti from Amsterdam & Irfan Mustafa from Dubai shared the judging process through PAS Awards online judging system. PAS AWARDS 2011 - ADVERTISING AT ITS BEST!

After running a six week successful campaign for ‘call for entry’, Pakistan Advertisers Society (PAS) is now entering the second phase of its Award programme with a total submission of 105 entries across 20 major categories.
In the second phase, the entries will go through a rigorous judging round. Structured on world class standards, the entries will be judged by some of the brightest and most experienced business leaders from the field of marketing, advertising, media, creative and academics, hand-picked from all around Pakistan.
‘We have received a response that has exceeded our expectations and we would like to thank all the companies and the advertising agencies that have participated and have supported our initiative” say Qamar Abbas, Executive Director of PAS.
The PAS Awards 2011, will acknowledge and honour ‘advertising that works’. The PAS awards are a unique endeavor to recognize and celebrate the best work of the advertising sector in Pakistan because for the very first time the awards will take into account how successful a campaign has been and not just how good it looks. These will be the most coveted and sought after awards as they are being given by PAS, the representative body of the client organizations which has established its credibility and standing in recent years. The awards will also serve as a great opportunity for clients and agencies alike, to showcase their campaigns to members of Pakistan’s business and industry. Above all, by recognising outstanding creative work the PAS awards will encourage the finest young talent in the country to join the profession says Shahnoor Ahmed, Chairman, Advertising Association of Pakistan (AAP).

PAS ADVERTISING AWARDS 2011 ANNOUNCES ‘CALL FOR ENTRY’

After a successful launch at a media conference, PAS Awards 2011 has opened ‘call for entry’.
With 26 categories, the competition ensures a place for companies across a wide advertising spectrum to compete for the honour of creating the year’s most effective work. Some of the award categories are FMCG, banking and finance, telecommunication, media and entertainment, public service and government, agriculture, construction and real estate, textile and fashion, retail, etc.
Within the categories, any and all marketing communication efforts that ran in Pakistan between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010 are eligible to enter. Whether full campaigns or unique efforts within a campaign; retail experience, viral, buzz, direct mail, PR, Radio, TV – anyone or any multiple combination of mediums – any examples of work that demonstrate how you tackled your objectives can be entered.
The PAS Awards 2011 encourages clients and agencies to participate together and demonstrate a partnership in the creation, management and building of a brand.
All the information, from the Entry Kit to the Form can be downloaded from PAS website. The last deadline to send a submission is March 31, 2011.
The Award programme will end at a mega event in May 2011 that will celebrate success of the advertising industry and set an international benchmark for Pakistan.

The Pakistan Advertisers Society (PAS) recently held a Media Conference to launch its first ever advertising awards for the industry. The awards ceremony is to be held in May 2011.
Talking at the press conference, Mr. Aly Mustansir, Chairman PAS said that in line with one of the prime objectives of the Society ‘to raise the standard of advertising in Pakistan’, the objective of the awards is to acknowledge and honour creativity, ideas and strategy that lead to strong business results, encourage competition within the industry and provide the impetus to thrive.
Also, talking at the occasion, the Chairman Awards Committee Mr. Fuad Chundrigar said that organised on world class standards, the Awards will be given in 26 categories, in which campaigns will compete with each other within the category for creating the year’s most effective work. The judging committee will comprise of notable personalities and experts from all over Pakistan representing marketing, advertising, media and academia. Anwar Rammal, Syed Jawaid Iqbal, Server Moosavee, Dr. Prof. Ehsan Ul Haq, Arshad Mahmud, Tapu Javeri, Sohail Ansar and Shoaib Qureshi are some of the eminent people in the jury of the Awards. In addition, PAS has engaged rTeam to manage the Award Secretariat that will be coordinating the award programme.
At the Press Conference he also acknowledged the Advertising Association of Pakistan (AAP) for their support and being the industry partners of the PAS Advertising Awards 2011.
In the end, the Secretary PAS, Mr. Abrar Hasan thanked the media for their participation and requested them to support this initiative by increasing the awareness of the Awards that will benefit the entire advertising and the media industry.
